I think the reason that people view France as a nation of "wussies" is because of their recent pacifistic outlook on... just about everything.

If we support Russia into Georgia they rip their contracts with Iraq up and they will gladly support us, france can sit on its ass all it wants for all i care since the US has 4 members of the security council.

IMO, any problems the UN has have been caused by its own refusal to enforce its own declarations/resolutions. If the UN wants credibility, then it is going to have to stick its neck out in some situations. Otherwise, the US is going to have to do things on its own.

I never said there was anything wrong with it, but since you asked...

When pacifism is applied on a national scale it allows other countries to essentially bully, or simply ignore the pacifistic ones. The rather unique position of France as a seeming pacifistic country that holds a seat on the security council gives it a bit more weight. Or just annoys the rest of the security council. You can take your pick.

Ok, I'm not going to get to into this "America vs. the World" debate... but will you guys PLEASE STOP INCLUDING CHINA! Sure, the 2 billion man army might sound like an American nightmare... except that China has NO WAY of getting soldiers across the pacific. Even by chance they reached the shores of California, they'd be losing millions of soldiers PER DAY. Why? China cannot supply a 2 billion man army with the ammunitions, guns, and food they need to fight a war for a period longer than 5 minutes. At best, they'd send soldiers in with a teaspoon of rice per month, and about 3 AK's per 12 soldiers, with enough rounds to successfully get a nearby American platoon's attention. In all, I'd be suprised if China could even take on Taiwan without losing a million soldiers in the first battle.

Europe, well, if you think that their former super powers that their automatically big and bad, think again. The United States is decades ahead in military technology. Europe has become to soft and is basically a chesiere(sp) cat... the body has long since faded, by the mouth still runs on.

Russia? Yeah, they might go against America. Of course, that means rolling into Eastern Europe and grabbing all the former soviet satelite countries they can. Maybe even a few useless skirmishes around Alaska.

We really need a huge military loss some time in the near future.

All these United States-loving, God-fearing, war-lusting conservatives (and some liberals, possibly) need a session of ego-castration.

Not to imply that there's something necessarily wrong with the first two alone, but it seems as if these sort of people are all the same.

Yikes! It's people like the ntgsc or whatever guy that make me embarassed to be an american. I think we should get rid of Saddam and his buddies, but I really hesitate to go down the "screw everyone else, we're going to take care of this ourselves" path. I'd like to wait and get more support on this. Because the less support we have, the more likely it is that more lives are going to be lost, and the longer the war is gonna be. A quick war in my opinion is the best type of war. Plus, I don't relish the fact of living in a country that is getting to be known as the school bully.

That reads like a breath of fresh air.

What is wrong with people? War is peace, remember?
