Fallen Tabris, you are forgetting about many things. One, we have oil wells in Texas, which are no where near run out, so I think we would last. The reserve oil wells are used when there is a threat to National Security to the point we have to use it. Second, we defeated the Mexican army at the Alamo, and we were out numbered a thousand to one. Mexican technology hasn't improved that much at all since then, which means no threat there. Canada, (no offense to your mother or you, heck, I'm half Canadian myself) what can I say about their Army, except, they have none. They would be on our side anyway, they're Americans too. Hell, most of their High ranking officials work in NORAD. They'd be crushed in a day if they tried. Another thing, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, we saw the Soviet's missiles before they crossed the Atlantic. Think for a minute, don't you believe an invasion force large enough would be bigger than a few missiles? Our spy satellites could see a shopping cart from 200 miles up. Another thing, our troops are the best in the world, and don't even get me started on our Navy and Air Force. Our carriers alone could hit you even if you lived in the middle of Eurasia. Our airplanes have an indefinite flight time in the air. We could circle the world several times before we engaged anybody, and then pick our target, before enemy forces responded. Our subs can move in, pick a target, destroy it, AND fall back before you saw them. The US can be completely self-sufficient, if it has to, and in this scenario, it would. Besides, out of all 5-6 billion people who live outside of the US, how many do you think would be in good-enough condition to fight? About 1-2 billion are kids, and in most parts of the world, you don't use children to invade another country. Elderly and handicapped people should not be made to fight, too many people would become angry about that one. How much does that leave, 1-2 billion? There is no way you could get that many people across an ocean AND keep them in good health. Besides, how would you get enough arms for them to use? Just think about that one.

Destroyed ones credibility right there.

SS 300; SS 400; SS 500. Ukrainian Kolchyugas. Anti ship misiles. Atomic subs. Qualitatively inferior, but very combat ready navies of the EU countries and Russia. Stealth Swedish SS. Eurofigthers and SU 5th generation aircraft series.

There is nothing in the US that might not be countered by the combined force of, in reallity, a few countries.

Good point gytis, but the US has the largest Air Force in the world in terms of machinery. I'm sure that the rest of the world has more combined, but our F-16 can target and take down six different enemies at the same time, before the other fighters are in range. I got that from a civilian brochure of all things.

Oh, I forgot the navy part. Again good point, but our 8 carrier battle groups* (see below for what makes up a battle group) are more than enough to defend America. I'm more than sure we could have them in position to defend America within a day.

<http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/allhands/ah0197/cvbg.html>

That's the website I obtained this info from. It's not mine.

Nimitz-class Carrier (1) – The carrier provides a wide range of options to the U.S. government from simply showing the flag to attacks on airborne, afloat and ashore targets. Because carriers operate in international waters, its aircraft do not need to secure landing rights on foreign soil. These ships also engage in sustained operations in support of other forces.
Ticonderoga-class Cruiser (2) (guided missile equiped) – multi-mission surface combatants. Equipped with Tomahawks for long-range strike capability.
Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer (1) (guided missile equiped) -multi-mission surface combatant, used primarily for anti-air warfare (AAW).
Spruance-class Destroyer (1) – primarily for anti-submarine warfare (ASW).
Oliver Hazard Perry-class Frigate - primarily for anti-submarine warfare (ASW).
Los Angeles-class Submarine (2) - in a direct support role seeking out and destroying hostile surface ships and submarines.
Supply-class Frigate – provides logistic support enabling the Navy's forward presence: on station, ready to respond. (Combined ammunition, oiler, and supply ship. Basically the Quartermaster).

These are the following jobs the Carrier Battle Groups usually do or can do:

-Protection of economic and/or military shipping.
-Protection of a Marine amphibious force while enroute to, and upon arrival in, an amphibious objective area.
-Establishing a naval presence in support of national interests.

Do you see why we would win?

USA-vs-the world
What are you people smoking around here and why aren't you sharing? First off do you think that it's possible that all the nations would be able to organize themselves to take on the US. Can you picture leaders from the Middle East fighting along side non Muslim countries? How about Japan fighting along side China? What about North and South Korea? Even if these countries were to manage to fight along side each other which leaders are going to run the operation? You think that European leaders are going to be able to work along side dictators? This has to be the most idiotic debate I've ever read. The chance of an all out attack against the USA is about as good as me becoming a millionaire. First you might want to discuss how all these countries should put aside their differences. Then in the remote chance that that happened. What's next? Who gets to reap the rewards for defeating the USA? You think it would be divided evenly between Mexico and Canada?
Ever head of the phrase "Too many Chiefs not enough Indians."?

This is a theoretical discussion, of course it has its inaccuracies and ignored facts.
