volume 02 chapter 06


Summary of Volume one 
A time where chaos and confusion plagued the heavens and earth..Humans and 
demons had lived in peace and coexisted amongst each other..
There was a whole belief and a culture..it was called "Tougenkyou 
(Shangri-la)"..
However, this world is suddenly plagued by a surge of minus energy that converts 
the demons to turn against and brutally attack the humans......
The main cause of this disaster is due to the planned resurrection of the demon 
king who was sealed away 500 years ago called Gyumaou. Kanzeon Bosatsu sent four 
lads, Genjo Sanzo, Son Goku, Cho Hakkai, and Sha Gojyou to prevent the 
experimentation of combining chemistry and black magic. 
The group heads west, while defeating assassins one by one who stands in their 
way, finally Gyumaou's son, Kougaiji, is taking action.
The ones chosen to stop the resurrection of Gyumaou, which causes the once 
peaceful 'Tougenkyou' to face many disasters, is travelling to India..

Goku: "AH, Wait, Time out!! You just switched cards now didn't you!?"
Gojyou: "Hey you! Didn't you just hallucinate?"
Goku: "Then let me see the card you put down"
Gojyou: "No way"
Goku: "You~~Perverted Gappa!!"

Chapter 6: Cleaning beauty

Gojyou: "Hah?! Wanna pick a fight midget monkey!!"
Goku: "You wanna!!"
Sanzo: "GET OFF AND FIGHT, GET OFF!!"
Hakkai: "Another busy day today~"
Sanzo: "Ack, idiot, watch ou......"
Sanzo: UOH?
Hakkai: ara?
All: DWAAAAAAA!!
Woman: !
Goku: "BWAH"
Gojyou: "Daa, its cold"
"Hey, its your fault you stupid monkey!!"
Goku: "Why! You're the one who started..."
Sanzo: "DIE! DIE RIGHT NOW!!"
Gojyou/Goku: 'drowning'^^;;
Woman: 'giggling'
"Ah, I'm sorry, it was just so funny......"
Sanzo: "Don't relate me with these idiots please"
Hakkai: "Could it be that you came to do laundry? Excuse us for dirtying the 
water."
Gojyou: "...besides that, even our spare clothing got soaking wet"
Woman: "Ah"
"If you want to dry your clothes, can you come to my village? As an apology for 
laughing I'll even serve hot tea."
(at her house)
Woman: "Ah, have enough towels?"
Hakkai: "You really helped us, sorry for going through all the trouble to even 
borrow these clothes."
Woman: "Not at all, I'm glad that the size fits"
Sanzo: Does she live alone? Why does she have young men's clothing? (Apparently 
Sanzo's getting the wrong impression ^^;;;;)
Old Woman: "Shunrei, It's me, is it okay to come in?"
Shunrei: "Oh, it's oba-san, please come in!!" 
('Oba-san' can mean aunt, or a closely acquainted older woman)
Shunrei: "It's my next door bread shop oba-san, her cooking is really good."
Oba-san: "I cooked us lunch! everyone please come and eat."
Goku(obviously happy^^;): "It looks so good!! Can I eat it!?"
Oba-san: "Yep, of course"
Oba-san: "Oh my, so many handsome young men around!! If only I was 10 years 
younger *heart*"
Gojyou: "Don't you mean 20 years, Oba-chan~"
Oba-san: "_so you guys are heading west huh, this is a good village, you can 
stay as long as you want."
Sanzo: "We're not planning to stay long, we're sort of in a hurry."
Oba-san: "That's good too, travel while you're still young."
"Besides that I must thank you guys."
Hakkai: "Thank us?"
Oba-san: "yeah...anyhow, It's been a while since I've seen Shunrei smile."
Goku: "...eh?"
"What's that about, for real?"
Oba-san: "Shunrei had a boyfriend who she was very close to"
"_but he was a demon..."
[A human and a demon...
know that relationships between different races are considered forbidden
But both were really hardworking, good kids
Even the people of the village gave them their blessing.]

"You guys should of heard, that all the demons in the world are going wild_"
[One year ago, all the demons in the village gave in to chaos, he was one of 
them_ Before he completely lost it, he shook off Shunrei and ran off.]
[After that, he didn't come home. From that day on, Shunrei never smiled.]
Hakkai: "...then these clothes belong to that person"
Oba-san: "...its cleaned really well right?""
[That girl__Shunrei's believing that someday her boyfriend will return.
She always does the laundry like she's lost in her own loneliness]
"Lending those precious clothes to you guys is not 'an apology for laughing' but 
rather a reward for giving her back her smile."
"We're all just hoping that Jien is still alive..."
Gojyou: "'Jien'...!? That guy's name is 'Jien'!?"
Oba-san: "Yeah, that's right. Before he disappeared, he came to this village 
about four years ago. I don't know his last name though_"

Gojyou: "_nah, don't think so..."
Sanzo: "......?"
Goku: "huh, where's Gojyou?"
Sanzo: "Dunno? Maybe in the toilet"
Goku: "geh, what's this"
Sanzo: "That Oba-san said she wants us to stay overnight no matter what 
so_..Sheesh, its not a field trip"
Hakkai: "ahaha"
"Well, since we helped her out somewhat, lets honor her generousity."
Goku: "...hey Hakkai, stop fooling around and tell us already."
"About before, Gojyou was looking for this 'Jien' guy, who is he?"
Hakkai: "I think I'll go use the restroom now"
Sanzo: "With the book?"
Goku: "Don't turn back at me, you should know about Gojyou right, you're the 
only one living with him"
Hakkai: "why not ask the person himself straightforwardly..."
Goku: "Definitely not"
"...but, its like"
"I don't have a secret or anything, and its not fair that he has one"
Sanzo: "...brat?"
Goku: "Sorry about that, that I'm a brat!!"
Hakkai: "...well, I guess Gojyou didn't say to keep it a secret"
"That person's name is 'Sha Jien'"
"He disappeared when Gojyou was 8 years old. He saved Gojyou's life and"
"It seems he is his older brother. Born from a different mother so to speak..."
Gojyou: "_hey"
Shunrei: "yes?"
Gojyou: "Do you have a picture of this 'Jien'?"
Shunrei: "Eh...Why?"

"Washing clothes that's never been worn, cleaning the room that no one stayed

Gojyou: "_I got it, I guess I said something weird"
Shunrei: "no, that's not..."
Gojyou: "To tell you the truth, I'm a demon too *heart*"
Shunrei: "eh...EHHHH!?"
Gojyou: "......just to say, if it were a lie I would be saying it more 
seriously."
"For some reason I look human but I know for a fact that the blood of a demon 
runs through my body."
Shunrei: deep crimson eyes
Gojyou: "_are you afraid of me?"
Shunrei: "......no" "Not at all."

Gojyou: "You see? Its not a big deal, being a different race."
"You're thinking too much about it"

Gojyou: "It stops me from seducing you?"

"is a 'pure-blooded' demon right"
Hakkai: "yes, Jien is the child of the real wife."

Goku to understand, Gojyou was born from a father who was a demon and his mother 
that was his mistress who was human. Making him a child of mixed blood_so to

Gojyou: "hn?"
Shunrei: "...thank you..."
(the next morning)
Shunrei: "all right"
I sure did something embarrassing last night~~...but, Gojyou-san is right
I should get a hold of myself.
Woman1: "shush! What happens if Shunrei hears about that!?"
Woman2: "Even if you say that...it can't be...some demon who attacked a person 
in the west forest." "Could it possibly be Jien__"
Shunrei: Jien
The demon that attacked a person__
No...It can't be...!!
Oba-san: "Hey!! You guys wake up!"
"Hey!!"
"WAKE UP!!"
Goku: "What's up Oba-san, its still six in the morning."
Oba-san: "There's no time for that, do you know where Shunrei is?"
Gojyou: "Something happen to Shunrei?"
Shunrei: "she's no where to be found!" "It looks as if she over heard some rumor 
and..."
Sanzo: "Rumor?"
Oba-san: "yeah, last night some demon came out and attacked a human in the west 
forest" "they say he looked like Jien…"
Goku: "_It can't be that Shunrei went there by herself...right?
Shunrei: JIEN...!!

Goku: "Can't you go any faster!?"
Hakkai: "This is the top speed though"
Sanzo: "if the village rumors are true and that demon is Jien, Its not a good 
idea for Shunrei to meet him."
Goku: "What was Shunrei thinking~!?
Sanzo: "How should I know"
Gojyou: " I know she can't think reasonably, when it comes to her beloved man 
that is"

Chapter 7: Crimson

Shunrei: "_en..."
"Jien..., where are you...?"
I decided to be strong, by trusting you. That I'd always wait for you to come 
back But
(flashback to the women): some demon who attacked a person in the west forest. 
Could it possibly be Jien__
Shunrei: [That's a lie......!!]
"Jien..."
"Where are you, Jien!!"
(Hears a sound)

"...Jien?..."
Hakkai: "We cannot continue any further by car it seems."
Sanzo: "This forest is deeper than I expected..."
"Lets split up, Gojyou and Hakkai go over there"
"Goku and I will look around here."
Gojyou: "Okay."
Hakkai: "Jeep, please stay here as our boundary mark"
Jeep: "Kyu~"
Goku: "Shunrei!!" "Where are you, Shunrei!!"
Gojyou: "_Shunrei!!"
Shunrei...huh. Now that I think of it, my weakpoint was a woman crying, ever 
since I was little. Because Kaa-san always cried whenever she saw me
(Kaa-san or okaa-san means mother)
She cries when she looks at me because she sees her beloved man's face and the 
vision of some other woman.
If my death will stop Kaa-san from crying, I thought that would be best.

Hakkai: "_I'm sorry"
Gojyou: "Huh?"
Hakkai: "That I told everyone about your Onii-san"
Gojyou: "Oh that, its okay"
Hakkai: "Goku insisted, since he extremely hates secrets and such."

Sanzo: "What the shit are they doing, those idiots"

Demon1: "What the fuck, who the hell are you bastards!?"
Demon2: "Suddenly coming out of no where..."
Hakkai: They don't know us___that means, this time its not Kougaiji's assassins

and humans...I hope that oneday it will come soon. If__If Jien and I have a

Yaone: "At this moment, Sanzo's group has traveled approximately 7 kilometers, 
heading northwest."
Dokugakuji: "They're traveling by jeep so it's gonna be a timely chase"
Kougaiji: "What are Gyokumen Kosyu's orders?"
Dokugakuji: "To send out more assassins, though I personally think it's 
useless."

called 'Kougaiji'"

demons to pledge such loyalty to the point of suicide..."
Gojyou: "If we stay here quietly for a while, they'll probably strike again 
soon."
Hakkai: "...we still don't know all the details after all, even the reason 
behind Gyumaou's resurrection."
"I wonder who is the one operating all this__"

Yaone: Somehow, this situation became more and more bizarre...

Kougaiji: "___hey, wait. Where are you taking that woman?"
Demon: "Prince"
"She is the daughter of a pharmacist, but because of her beauty, she is being 
presented to Hyakuganmaou..."

Extra space- The reason why only Hakkai got to sleep on the bed on page 32 of 
this volume.

Hakkai: "__well, here is the problem."
"Three futons laid out by Oba-san."
"And one single-sized bed."
Sanzo: "...you don’t expect me to sleep on the floor now would you?"
Goku: "We were camping out for 5 days__? I prefer the bed too."
Gojyou: "I don’t want anybody limbering at me when I’m sleeping."
"......I guess it’s a match."
"Well, lets go with a card match."
"The one with the strongest card out of the four wins."
Goku: "Ah" "Alright *heart*"
"I got a King man, I win__*heart*"
Gojyou: "Dummy, the last card doesn’t mean it’s the biggest. I got a Ace here!"
