Well, this is my first attempt at a translation ^^; >_< urgh it was fun 
with the sound effects's.... All right so with that out of the way....here 
is Act1 of Random Walk

Translation note:
sound effects are in <>
[] represent actions and different scenes.
Thoughts are in italics. 
If the character is narrating it will say the name plus narration....it's 
confusing otherwise.
On Japanese High School System: 1st grade/year: 10th grade. 2nd grade/year: 
11th grade.

Page 1:
Yuka-narration: I am Yuka Kunitomo and in my first year of High School. My 
future goal is "To Become A Good Woman". Recently 'My Boom' is to go play 
golf with my dad at the golf range. 
(Note: My Boom is an expression used for one's recent obsessions. My host 
sisters in Japan used this expression a lot)
[View of Apt. Complex]
This is the apartment complex where I live.
[Yuka walks through the hall] <scrrtch>
I started living by myself the same time I entered High School. 
<scrrtch>[thing on wall is making sounds ^^;]
Why-
Person(Youko mama): Well, I'm leaving.
<scrtch>
Youko mama: If it's possible, I'll try to hurry back.
[Youko & Akimitsu kiss] <kiss>
Akimitsu: All right.
[Yuka watches parents]
Yuka-narration: And these are my parents.
Yuka: Do that inside the door, I'd be ashamed if the neighbors saw you.
Youko: Ah, Morning Yuka-chan. [Youko glances at her watch]
Youko: Oh no! I'm sorry but I have to go now.

[Youko and Yuka wave]
Yuka: Have a good day [turns to her father] It's very rare for Youko-mama 
to go to work this early. She usually leaves in the afternoon.
Akimitsu: She has a business trip to Nagoya.
Yuka: Dad, you're also up early.
Akimitsu: I was working until a little while ago, now I'm going to sleep.
Yuka: OK.
Yuka-narration: My dad- Akimitsu Kunitomo is all right. He's a popular 
mystery novelist. He just remarried a magazine editor, Youko-mama. I decided 
to separate from them because I didn't want to bother them since they got 
married. Even though I live separate I live next door. So we often see each 
other. My father rented it for me, and it was lucky that no one lived there. 
[Yuka glances over shoulder at her father]
Yuka: Me too, I have to go. See you later papa.
Akimitsu: Oh, Yuka. Experience good love so you can be a good person.
[Yuka smiles and winks]
Yuka: Of course! Leave it to me!
Yuka-narration: Ever since I was little my dad has always told me that. 
Following his advice I'm hoping I can experience many loves. However that 
is difficult....

[School]
Touko: What?! You broke up with Tsutsui-kun?
Yuka: Yea.
Touko: I didn't know! When?
Yuka: Just before the graduation ceremony.
Touko: Really? Why!?
[Yuka looks upset]
Yuka: He had an affair! He has a college student who is his tutor and she 
took his attention away from me. I was angry with him, and then he was 
angry with me! I don't want to see his face anymore! I'm glad we're going 
to different high schools.
Touko: Is that so? You will find a new boyfriend soon. But still...
Tsutsui-kun was handsome.
Yuka-narration: Touko Negishi went to my old junior high school. Even 
though Touko has a reputation of dating around I still like her. She's 
fun.  Hirotaka Chiba (Hiro) also went to the same Junior High School.
Yuka: Hiro how is your relationship with your younger girlfriend? After 
graduation you might not see her as much.
Hiro: Yea, that's right.
Yuka-narration: He's a good guy friend since we can talk about our 
boyfriends and girlfriends together.  

Hiro: But we're ok because I talk to her a lot over the phone.
Yuka: Really? I envy you. How about you Touko and your boyfriend from 
M University?
Touko: Oh, he's history. Now I'm going out with someone from K University 
and we're all love love <3
Yuka: Oh
[Katsura enters]
Yuka: Oh, Katsura's here! I'm going to go talk with her.
Yuka-narration: Katsura Ishimara is in the basketball club. She is beautiful,
tall, athletic and so cool. 
Yuka: Katsura! Morning.
Katsura: Morning Kunitomo-san.
Yuka: I told you to call me Yuka. [Yuka smiles] Hey, would you like to come 
over to my place when you don't have basketball club? You can stay over 
since I live by myself. You don't have to worry about my parents. 

[Katsura is embarrassed while Yuka smiles] <smile smile smile>
Katsura: ....thanks. By why are you inviting me? You have closer friends 
than me, like Negishi-san...
[Yuka looks puzzled] <huh>
Yuka: Because I like you.
[Katsura blushes]
Yuka: Cuz you're beautiful and cool.
Katsura: No, no not true!
Yuka:  Yes, yes it's true! Have some self-confidence. [She leans towards 
Katsura] And when I saw you for the first time I thought we could become 
good friends.
[Katsura blushes]
Katsura: ... 
Yuka: <sigh> Am I upsetting you?
Katsura: [waves reassuringly at Yuka] ...oh no...I'm happy but...
<shinne>
Yuka: Really? You're happy? I'm glad! In that case you have to come to my 
house. Let's go to a live concert together!
Katsura: Pushy. But, she's so cute....I can't hate her.
Yuka-narration: High School doesn't have too many rules. I enjoy the school 
life and living by myself. I like dad, Youko-mama, and my friends a lot. I 
like everyone. The only thing I'm missing is love. Where is the cool boy 
who will make me forget everything but him?

[Yuka swings a golf club]
<bash>
[Golf ball falls after the 50 marker] <plop>
Yuka: OOOOH! [upset] ....I missed
Akimitsu: I can't take you to the course yet.
Yuka: I can't turn with my hips, I swing only using my arms~~~
Akimitsu: Practice! Practice!
[a man stops and notices Akimitsu]
Man(Shiki): Kunitomo? You must be Kunitomo!
Akimitsu: Shiki! It's been a long time!!
Shiki: I didn't expect to see you here.
Yuka: You're a friend of dads? I'm Yuka. How do you do?
Shiki: Ryooichiru Shiki.
Yuka: Oh, I know! The famous social mystery author, Shiki-Sensei. A big 
Bestseller unlike dad.
Akimitsu: Shut up.
Shiki: You're very pretty Yuka-chan, so you must be popular with the boys. 
Why are you here when you could be out with your boyfriend?
Yuka: I broke up with him, so now I'm freeeee.
Shiki: ....I was teasing her expecting her to say "No, no I don't have a 
boyfriend" and to be upset...she must be mature...
Akimitsu: Oh, she's a first year High School student, they're all like her 
nowadays.
Shiki: Where does she go to High School?
Akimitsu: Morinaga Public High School.
Shiki: Morinaga!? That's the same school my son goes to.

[Yuka walks up to Touko at school]
Touko: Morning Yuka!
Yuka: Ah, morning.
Touko: What happened to your arm?
Yuka: I pulled the muscle when I went to play golf at the range with my dad 
yesterday.
Touko: Golf?! Sounds middle-aged.
(Note: Golf isn't popular among teenagers in Japan. It's something 
middle-aged people do. Also, since Japan is a small country there aren't a 
lot of golf courses, instead people go to golf range's.)
Yuka: It's fun but hard. [remembers] Oh! Do you know second year student, 
Shiki?
Touko: Shiki?
Yuka: He's the son of my father's friend.
Touko: Hmm....not really. I haven't checked out the second graders that 
well yet. Forget about that, let's go to Karaoke.
Yuka: Ok. Let's invite Hiro and Katsura. 
Touko: Oh no, no. It's better if it's just the two of us.
Yuka: ?

[Yuka is upset]
Yuka: HUH!? [shouts] You plan to get some guy's attention and take them to 
karaoke where we will sing a lot, eat and drink a lot and then pretend to 
go to the bathroom and leave?!
Touko: Shhh! You're too loud Yuka.
Yuka: Isn't that terrible? Touko, do you do stuff like this all the time?
(note: >_< I agree with Yuka, this is pretty low.)
Touko: Just once and a while. Because I don't like it they ask for me to 
pay half. Even though they pay their cost I don't want anyone to get the 
wrong idea, it would be annoying. Since two beautiful girls like us go out 
with them for a few hours, they should thank us.. [ Touko turns her head 
with a huff]
Yuka: ....You say that but.
Guy: Hey you. Do you have some free time? Want to go out with us?
[Yuka and Touko stare.]<Yuka's heart thumps>
Touko: I'm sooooo happy! We were bored.
Guy: I'm Tsukasa and this is Nozomu. What are your names? 
Touko: Touko and Yuka. We want to go to Karaoke.
Tsukasa: Karaoke! Sounds good.
Touko: [Whispers to Yuka] Lucky! They came to us. Both of them are pretty 
cool. From now on, the plan is in effect.
Tsukasa: Your uniform must be Morinaga. What grade?
Touko: First year. How about you Tsukasa-kun?
Tsukasa: We're in second year at the High School affiliated with S University.
(Note: Ok..that was hard to translate into English. In Japan some schools 
are linked to one another. It goes from kindergarten all the way through 
college...basically you don't have to take an entrance exam to get into a
new school, you just move up.)
Yuka: [thinks] He looks cool...actually more than that. Nozomu-kun might 
just be my type...I like his looks, his style and his shaggy hair.
[Nozomu smiles]<smile>
Yuka: [blushing + thinks] Aghhh!

[At the Karaoke bar]
Yuka: [thinks] What can I do!? He's really my type!!
Nozomu: Oh, I love this song!
Yuka: Ah, me too!
Nozomu: So let's sing it together.
Yuka: Ok. [thinks] We like the same type of music. And the same food and 
drinks. We're alike.
Nozomu: Give me the remote control.
Yuka: Ok. Nozomu-kun, do you have a girlfriend?
Nozomu: [grins] Nope.
Yuka: Really!?
Nozomu: It's a lie. I have many.
Yuka: What!?
Nozomu: No, no I really don't have one. 
[He laughs, Yuka laughs uncertainly] <Ohahaha>
Yuka: Eh..? Which one is right? [Yuka smiles + thinks] I want to know more 
about Nozomu-kun. I want to see him again. If possible just the two of us. 

<scrape>[Yuka panics]
Touko: I'm going to use the bathroom <3
Yuka: [remembers flashback] Touko: When I say  "I'm going to use the bathroom", 
Yuka you have to say "Me too" and come with me. [end flashback/Yuka is still 
thinking] No, I can't! If I do it, Nozomu-kun will dislike me and I won't be 
able to see him again. Anyway I will go with Touko and try to convince her 
it's wrong. 
Yuka: All right, me too.
[Nozomu pulls her down] <yank>
Nozomu: Noo, I won't let you go.
Touko: !!
Yuka: ..... [arrow points to her: Is very happy]
Nozomu: You don't have to go together. Wait for her to come back.
(note: wow,..I guess in Japan it's not customary for girls to go to the 
bathroom in packs as it is here in the states...it's considered strange 
for a girl to go alone ^^;]
Tsukasa: Or going to the bathroom is just an excuse. Are you trying to ditch 
us..
[Youko blushes angrily]
Yuka: [thinks] T-they know!!

Nozomu: The other day my friends said that they were very angry because a 
first grade student of Morinaga High School invited them to karaoke, my 
friends went but right before the bill the girls left. 
Tsukasa: The description of the girl is soft, wavy hair and upslanted eyes 
Touko-chan. When I saw you I knew. Even though the boys were planning to pay 
for everyone if the girls leave without saying anything they would get angry 
and hurt. Some may try to get revenge and do the same. 
Nozomu: That's right, if you underestimate the guys one day you will get hurt.
[smiles] See you.
Tsukasa: Today you have to pay for everything. Don't ever do this again.
[Tsukasa and Nozomu leave]
Touko: [shouting] Damnnnnnnnn! Who do they think they areeee!
Yuka: There's no choice Touko, you were wrong. We should stop doing this.
Touko: grr~~~~~
Yuka: [thinks] Nozomu must think I was one of the girls who do this all the 
time. o-oh......

[At school the next day]
Katsura: No way!! It's obvious they were angry. You were lucky it could have 
been worse.
Yuka: yea...
Katsura: First of all you don't go guy-hunting. You don't know who they are, 
and the Karaoke box is a closed area. 
Yuka: [thinks] Nozomu-kun...I should have asked for his cell phone number. Or 
I should have followed him and appologised. Should I go to his High School 
and look for him? But I'm afraid he might be cold to me and snub me. 
Touko: Yuka! The guys from yesterday, Tsukasa and Nozomu, they aren't S High 
School students. They are second graders of our High School!!
[Yuka is shocked]
Touko: I met Tsukasa at the first floor just now-
~Flashback~
Touko: What!! [points at Tsukasa] You guys are here!? You told us you were 
from S High School!!
Tsukasa: We tried to find out if the story was true. If we were honest you 
wouldn't have done the same thing to kids from your school. You should thank 
us since we corrected you idiots. 
Touko: Don't pretend you're so great. You lied to us
Tsukasa: That was your fault. You should know all of you upper-classman's 
faces, idiot.
~end flashback~

Touko: ...that's what happened, geez. DAMNIT! He used idiot twice. grrrr.
Katsura: calm down.
Touko: Huh, where's Yuka?

[Yuka is running through the halls]
Yuka: I had a feeling he must be the one. [looks down halls]
[Nozomu leans against a wall talking to two girls] 
Nozomu: Oh you found me. Your name is Yuka-chan, is that right? Sorry for 
yesterday.
Girl 1: Who is this first grader Shiki-kun?
Girl 2: What happened yesterday
Girl 1: never mind.
Yuka: Nozomu-kun, is your last name Shiki?...Is your father the author Shiki  
Ryooichiru-san?
Nozomu: That's right.
Yuka: [thinks] He. That must be him. He must be the boy who will make all my 
days with him lovely.

Note: Wow. That was harder to do then I thought it would be. I want to thank 
my Japanese teacher for helping me out with these translations and Zahara-san 
for allowing me to post them on her page. I love Yoshizumi-sensei's art, and 
unlike previous stories of hers this one focuses on the daily-normal lives of 
high schoolers. I will try to improve on my translations but I hope this is 
good ^^ Nozomu-kun looks like an older Sasa from Mint na Bakura a bit.
