Ruroni Kenshin Chapter #177  "Flashback Twelve - Violent Battle"


Pg 1.

(Enishi looks into Battosai's house surprised to find it empty)

Enishi: Huh?
Sis...   sis... ?  That's strange. Wonder where she went...
(thinks) No way... she couldn't have gone to the forest!!


Pg 2-3.

(Sumita shops down trees uselessly as Battosai easily avoids the oncoming 
logs)


Pg 4.

Sumita: It looks like you're still fighting by yourself since you decide
on your own targets before going in for the kill.

Mumyoi: But that's the way I attack!!  I have lots of space to work with 
in the air!!


Pg 5-8.

(Battosai gets stabbed by Mumyoi in his left shoulder and a log flies into 
him. Sumita and Mumyoi snicker but then Battosai charges at Sumita cutting 
both his knees off. Letting go of his sword, Battosai flies back into a tree.
There Mumyoi stabs him through the right shoulder from above)

Mumyoi: You've got nerve Battosai. Impressive, but you shouldn't have let go
of your sword!


Pg 9.

Battosai: You're a lousy eyesore.

(Grabbing his wakizashi, he pins Mumyoi's left hand to the tree. Mumyoi
screams in pain)

Battosai: I'll be killing you shortly so stay right there.


Pg 10.

(Mumyoi desperately tries to pry the wakizashi out of his hand)

Mumyoi: ... I can't pull it out.  Shit!

Battosai: (sword in hand) It's easy for you to attack at the rate you move 
around to hide yourself... Now I see. So that's what you really look like...

Mumyoi: you saw...


Pg 11.

(Mumyoi pulls his hand out)

Mumyoi: This body is a secret handed down in my clan for generations!!
It's the law of my clan to make sure whoever sees it gets killed!!
(jumps away) Our fight ends now but I'll kill you yet! When time passes by, 
and when the era changes, I'll be sure to kill you!!


Pg 12.

Sumita: (thinks) He strong!  Too strong!!  Even regardless of the fact his 
instinct and hearing have gone bad... and he's only fighting recklessly. 
Exactly what is his fighting style? His fighting style could not have had
assassinated close to a hundred. He's a completely different person from our
past speculation of him... who the hell is this man... ?


Pg 13.

Battosai: The first guy said there are three more of you. Where's the last 
guy?

Sumita: ... in the hut just up ahead. The girl is also there.

(Battosai begins to leave)

Sumita: Wait!! You forgot something.
I'm gonna make sure you get the "3rd Kekkai"!
(sets off a hidden explosive in the ground)



Pg 14.

(Enishi hears Sumita explode off in the distance)

Enishi: That explosion... The Yaminobu must be fighting with Battosai!
(starts running)  SIS!!


Pg 15.

(Battosai opens his eyes and notices his vision got blurred)

Battosai: (thinks) My instinct, my hearing and now my vision... These things 
take time to wear out.  Waiting here ought to return my senses back to normal.
(grips his sword)  but


Pg 16.

Battosai: (thinks of Tomoe)  BUT!!!

Sumita: ... so Sumita's become part of the Kekkai too.. Yatsume must've 
gotten hurt. For Battosai to defeat them both must've been something.
Next is my turn...


Pg 17.

Old man:  But it'll be quite awhile before he gets here considering that his
eyesight's gone bad.  Think I'll go kill that worthless girl now.
(hears a footstep behind him and turns around)  What!!

(Battosai appears beat up and exhausted)


Pg 18.

Battosai: (glares)  I'll take Tomoe back.

Old man: ... oh, now I'm sure you've beaten those two. Come to think of it,
Battosai was a man who carried out missions and fought wisely at all times. 
However, the man standing before me now fights for a girl with violent 
emotions without giving any forethought to his actions. Although you appear
unchanged, you've improved quite a bit... don't think anyone will stand a 
match against you. But you're still no match for me!!


Pg 19.

Old man:  Let's go Battosai!  If you want the girl back, you've got to kill 
me first!!

(Laying on the floor of the hut, Tomoe wakes up from being unconscience)
