Comments: This is the last chapter in what I am [ME] calling the "Spring 
          of Life" storyline.  This is my favourite Ranma storyline and 
          this is my favourite chapter.  The numbers (nn.pp) before the 
          dialogue are the page number then panel number.  Page numbers 
          are from the compilation. Scene setting comments are in <..>

165   < Ranma has one arm around Akane the other in a defensive pose >
      < and they are both standing in front of the Orochi's teeth... >

166.1 < Ranma and Akane are still falling in each other's arms >

166.2 < A very worried trio... (P-chan's there as well) >
      Shinnosuke: Akane!!
      Ojii-san:   Blow the horn!!


167.1 < The Orochi sticks its tongue out to catch Akane and Ranma >

167.2 < A worried Shinnosuke and Ojii-san >
      Ojii-san:   Oh no, it's dangerous...

167.3 < In a neat manouver Ranma kicks away the tongue >
      Ranma:      Hey!!

167.4 <and the pair land safely on their feet >


168.1 < A very angry Orochi tries bit them on the ground... >

168.2 <Akane, in desparation blows the horn again... >


169.1 <The mouth is closing on the pair >

169.2 < Ojii-san again >
      Ojii-san:   Wahah... it's too late!!

169.3 < A closeup of a determined Ranma >
      Ranma:      Ku!!

169.4 < Displays yet another martial art... >
      Ranma:      Take the "Earnest White Tooth"!!
      < Actually this consists of catching one of the teeth >
      < before it crunches them... :-)                      >

169.5 < Amazement is displayed on the faces of the watching trio >
      Shinnosuke: What!?
      Ojii-san:   Doing that sort of thing!!
      < P-chan doesn't say anything :-) >

170.1 < Surprise on Ranma's face as... >

      Shinnosuke: Ah...
      Ojii-san:   It stopped!?

170.3 < Yes, the Orochi is finally getting sleepy >

170.4 < Ranma and Akane leap to safety >
      Ranma:      Now is the time!!

170.5 < They look back watching the Orochi leave... >


171.1 < It heads back to the lake >

171.2 < and dives in. >

171.3 < Shinnosuke and Ojii-san run to the lake edge. >

171.4 < Gazing at the lake >
      Ojii-san:   It's over...

171.5 < Shinnosuke turns his head to look at... >


172.1 < A sad Shinnosuke looks over to Akane and Ranma >
      < standing close together.                       >
      Shinnosuke: Akane...

172.2 < The last few bubbles rising from the now sleeping Orochi >
      Narrator: In this manner, Orochi goes to a long sleep. 

172.3 < The sleeping Orochi >
      Narrator: With the extract (essence) melted from its body, 
                the spring of life is also restored....


173.1 < The giant platypus's are back along with the giant koala, >
      < giant fruit bat and the other exotic wildlife.            >
      Narrator:  The forest is once again filled with vigor.

173.2 < There are a pair of giant birds sitting on Shinnosuke and >
      < Ojii-san's house                                          >

173.3 < Inside (with a giant kangaroo rat bouncing around) >
      Ojii-san:   Thank you.  
                  With this, (we) can return to our previous life...
      Akane:      Well...

173.4 < Close up of Ojii-san back in bed again >
      Ojii-san:   Me and Shinnosuke are the guardians of this forest...
                  That's fate...

173.5 < The kangaroo rat is nibbling Ojii-san's head >
      Ojii-san:   Please be relieved and go back home.
      Akane:      Is it really alright?


174.1 < Change of scene >

174.2 < Outside Shinnosuke and Ranma are talking >
      Shinnosuke: What's that you want to talk about?
      Ranma:      Well...

174.3 < Close up of Ranma >
      Ranma:      When you were a kid, 
                  you risked your life to save Akane's life.

174.4 < Close up of Shinnosuke >

174.5 < Ranma turns his head to face Shinnosuke >
      Ranma:      I'd like to say a word of gratitude...
                  Than..... <He is about to say thank you>

174.6 < Shinnosuke has of course forgotten all or has he? >
      Shinnosuke: I don't know what you're talking about.
                  You must have the wrong person.

174.7 < Ranma thinks...>
      Ranma:      Shinnosuke...


175.1 <Akane turns the corner of the house >
      Akane:      Shinnosuke...
      Shinnosuke: Akane...

175.2 < They stand together with Ranma back a bit, watching. >
      Shinnosuke: You're going with him, aren't you?

175.3a < Between frames, Shinnosuke is thinking: >
       Shinnosuke: I love Akane...

175.4 < A close up of Akane who is thinking: >
      Akane:      Sorry, Shinnosuke...

      Shinnosuke: Cheer up.


176.1 < While the two are standing together, >
      < Ranma turns around and  walks off... >

176.2 < Ending up face to face with Ryouga >

176.3 < Who grabs him by the throat and drags him off >
      < Ranma has a "Oh, no" look on his face.        >

      Ryouga:     Don't worry, Ranma.
                  I don't have any intention to reproach you.

176.5 < Ranma looks slighty relieved >

176.6 < Birds are disturbed and fly off from the tree tops >

176.7 < Ryouga thinks: >
      Ryouga:     Akane.  
                  I'm going for a journey again.


177.1 < He walks off, there is a sign in the foreground pointed in    >
      < the direction he is going saying "Cliff"  In the foreground   >
      < Ranma is also lying, severely beaten up... maybe he shouldn't >
      < have felt so relieved...                                      >
      Ryouga:     Fu, cracked while noble.

177.2 < Later on >

177.3 < Akane and Ranma are leaving >
      Akane:      Bye bye, take care...

177.4 < Shinnosuke, Ojii-san and a platypus are there to watch them go >

177.5 < Akane looks back and thinks >
      Akane:      Thank you.  Goodbye Shinnosuke.


178.1 < A forlorn looking Shinnosuke >
      Shinnosuke: Goodbye.
                  My first love without being able to confess after all.
      Ojii-san:   (thinking) This guy forgot the fact that he had 
                             confessed.

178.2 < Changing scene >

178.3 < Back with Akane and Ranma a little further down the road... >
      Akane:      ....
      Ranma:      ....


179.1 < A very embarassed Ranma is thinking of what to say...>
      Ranma:      (thinking) I'm happy to have you coming back 
                             with me, Akane.
      Ranma:      (thinking) I was terribly worried.
      Ranma:      (thinking) Frankly speaking, 
                             this time I was a bit impatient.

179.2 < Akane is slightly puzzled by Ranma's silence >
      Akane:      ....
      < Ranma is still thinking... >
      Ranma:      (thinking) Ah, all right. 
                  (thinking) I don't even say a gentle word once 
                             in a while...

179.3 < Now a sweat bead joins his worried face... >
      Ranma:      (thinking) In a casual way, try holding her hand...

179.4 < Ranma is very flushed and puts his hand out backwards towards >
      < Akane who looks on surprised...                               >
      Ranma:      ....

179.5 < Akane smiles and... >

179.6 < takes his hand, much to his surprise! >

180.1 < she looks at him and smiles >
      Akane:      I'm glad to go back together.
                  Sorry to have made you worried.

180.2 < now Ranma is very stunned! >

180.3 < Ranma is back to thinking of what he should say next :-) >
      Ranma:      (thinking) I'm also happy.
      Ranma:      (thinking) From now on, I'll become a more gentle man.
      Ranma:      (thinking) You, don't go to dangerous places anymore.
      Ranma:      (thinking) I'm most happy at this kind of time with you.

      Akane:      What are you so taciturn about?
      Ranma:      (still thinking) No, I can't...
