The story so far: After cooking a meal which Ranma refuses to eat [and pays the price for his refusal :-)] Akane sees a news broadcast of a monster which she remembers from an incident when she was a little girl. When she answers a phone call for a representitive of the dojo to help the residents of the area that the monster has appeared in, she decides to go and help them. She packs and goes leaving a note which says where she is going but not why she is leaving. Souun decides it is because Ranma insulted her cooking once to often and Ranma is sent to apologise and bring her back. Meanwhile Akane arrives at the area and is attacked by the monster again.
